Impressive café bar opens in beach front location
Llanelli’s former Discovery Centre at North Dock has opened its doors as St Elli’s Bay café and bistro in an impressive transformation.
The ground floor of the three-storey beach front restaurant is the first of three phases to be completed and is open from 9am-9pm daily.
The stylish café seats 90 and has a licensed bar. All food is locally sourced and served from 9.30am. There is a pet friendly area and an outside plaza eating space.
Work is now underway to the first floor which will serve as a restaurant with panoramic sea views and an exclusive top-floor space, available for special events and private hire.
The people behind the transformation are leaseholders Emilio and Camelia Fragiacomo, who own the popular Langland's Brasserie on Gower, just around the corner from Mumbles, Swansea.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s leader, Cllr Emlyn Dole said: “Emilio and Camelia have done a wonderful job in transforming the ground floor into a tastefully decorated café bar. They are giving customers the opportunity to dine in beautiful surroundings with breath taking views across the Carmarthenshire coast from their seats. I hope visitors will support them in this new venture.”
The building is owned by Carmarthenshire County Council, whose Executive Board agreed an approach by the current leaseholders to transfer the lease and create a new restaurant.
