Travel update

There are reports of hailstones on some Carmarthenshire roads, so please drive carefully.

 

Storm Arwen - warning of wind

Storm Arwen is set to bring some strong northerly winds to Wales from Friday afternoon through to Saturday evening.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of wind - this warning has been upgraded to amber for western parts of Carmarthenshire from midnight to 9am Saturday morning.

There is a risk of disruption to transport and possibly to power supplies. Please take extra care in case of fallen branches and debris on the roads. As always we will continue to monitor the weather forecast and respond accordingly.

Prolonged periods of heavy rain

We’re in for some prolonged periods of heavy rain over the next few days which may lead to river and surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions.

As always, are crews are prepared and will respond to changing conditions. Keep an eye on weather forecasts and take extra care on your journeys.

 

Yellow rain warning

The Met Office has issued a low impact yellow warning for rain Thursday and Friday. This may lead to flooding in places and disruption to travel. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and respond accordingly. Please take care on the roads.

Yellow warning of thunderstorms

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of thunderstorms for tomorrow morning, between 4am and 12pm.

Expect rain, strong winds and thunder and lightning. Please take care on the roads and be mindful of changing conditions.
